What's something memorable about you?

Something memorable about me is for you to decide! I believe it varies based on the interactions we have together.

Why did you join MAC? / What is your goal with MAC?

Here’s why I joined:

Create connections and build community: When I came across MAC, the community aspect stood out and mainly brought me here. I moved by myself to Chicago back in April, not really knowing anyone. I want to meet and connect with an Asian community that is supportive and empowering.

Try something new and gain new experiences: I’m taking this opportunity to do something completely out of my comfort zone. I’m excited to learn and grow from it.

My goal with MAC is to enjoy the experience and have fun with my fellow pageant sisters!

What is your spirit animal?

A panda – they are known for their calmness, balance and adaptability.

What three things would you bring with you to a remote island?

A friend, a journal w/ pen, and a portable music device!

What's your favorite quote?

“You grow through what you go through.”

I’m Brittany, contestant #1 for Miss Asian Chicago 2024! I’m a 25-year-old, Chinese-American, originally from San Diego, California, but now living in Chicago, Illinois.

I graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Journalism, specializing in Public Relations, along with a double minor in Communication and Counseling & Social Change. Currently, I work as a public relations professional, helping technology brands tell their stories. I hope to one day use these skills to support nonprofits/social causes, where I can make meaningful differences in people’s lives.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, volunteering, and watching tv shows/K-dramas. I also love fashion, wellness, traveling, music and food. My values include community, integrity, and growth.

Growing up in my hometown, I didn’t see too many Asians or Asian-Americans around me during my school years. This often led to struggles with my self-confidence and identity, as I felt the pressure to conform. However, during my senior year of high school, I came to realize the importance of embracing my ethnicity and culture–it’s an integral part of who I am.

I’m excited to be part of a supportive, empowering community. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and for your support as I embark on this new journey.
