Holly Kim has served as Treasurer of Lake County since December 2018. Prior to taking office as Treasurer, she was a Trustee of the Village of Mundelein. Treasurer Kim is the first Korean-American woman to be elected in Illinois.
Holly’s election to the office of County Treasurer is a natural progression from her previous professional and volunteer work. She learned a strong work ethic and appreciation for the value of small business from her father, who was president of the Jaycees and local Chamber of Commerce while running his own business on Lawrence in Chicago's Korea Town.
As Treasurer, Holly has made it a priority to modernize the office by expanding online payment options and increasing the use of technology. She updated the County’s investment policy to take advantage of more opportunities for a better return for the taxpayers of Lake County. She has also used her office to conduct community workshops on financial literacy and planning so Lake County residents can be more secure financially.
