What's something memorable about you?
I believe something memorable about me is my positive energy and supportive nature. I truly believe everyone can achieve their dreams and I like to encourage that type of thinking and energy to my friends and loved ones.
Why did you join MAC? / What is your goal with MAC?
I joined MAC to step outside of my comfort zone and really embrace my body and appearance for the first time in my life while surrounded by a supportive group of contestants. I wanted to create new friends in this once in a lifetime opportunity for me to build my confidence within myself.
What is your spirit animal?
My spirit animal is a cat I think!
What three things would you bring with you to a remote island?
On a remote island I would bring a needle, a journal, and sunscreen for sure!
What's your favorite quote?
My favorite quote is from Angela Davis:
"You have to act as if it were possible to radically transform the world. And you have to do it all the time."
My name is Megan Rae Banias and I am contestant #8 for Miss Asian Chicago 2024! I am Filipina-American, raised in Chicago. I am very proud to be from this beautiful city and to now have the chance to be participating in this opportunity to represent my Filipino heritage for Miss Asian Chicago!
From an early age I was greatly influenced by the power of community. The idea that “it takes a village” really resonated with my family.
